We report the discovery of the following transient object as part of the Pan-STARRS Survey for Transients (PSST). Information on all objects discovered by the Pan-STARRS Survey for Transients is available at http://star.pst.qub.ac.uk/ps1threepi/ (see Chambers et al. arXiv:1612.05560, Huber et al. ATel #7153). We will release AstroNotes for transients of note (e.g. closer than 100Mpc, unusually faint or luminous, or rapidly evolving).

The new transient source is in the galaxy IC 1048. We discovered PS19dlm (AT2019knz) on MJD 58667.32. == 2019-07-03.32, at m_w = 22.09 +/- 0.16. PS19dlm is offset by 34.26 arcsec south, 23.47 arcsec east from IC 1048, which is at z = 0.005 or d = 25.5 Mpc (from NED), implying an absolute magnitude of M = -10.02 (assuming m-M = 32.03 and A_r = 0.08). Followup observations are encouraged.

This unusually faint absolute magnitude could imply a nova, very young supernova, LBV type outburst or other faint transient in the host (if not a foreground star).
