Abstract:
We have obtained an optical spectrum of SN 2020win, which shows it to be a 91T-like peculiar Type Ia supernova at, or a few days before, maximum brightness.

The adH0cc programme for an "accurate determination of H0 with core-collapse supernovae" reports the classification of the optical transient SN 2020win. The target was supplied by the Zwicky Transient Facility ZTF (Kulkarni 2018, 2018ATel11266....1K), the Pan-STARRS survey for Transients (Huber et al. 2015, 2015ATel.7153....1), and the ATLAS survey (Tonry et al. 2018, 2018PASP..130f4505T). The observations were performed  on the night of 2020 October 20 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1, equipped with the FORS2 spectrograph and grism 300V, covering a wavelength range from 3400 to 9600 Å at a resolution of 10 Å. The classification was done using GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, 2008A&A...488..383H).

GELATO finds good matches with SN 1995ac at a phase of 0 days, and with SN 1997br at a phase of -3.7 days at a redshift of 0.147. The redshift of the host was determined through the fitting of the Ca H&K, the G-band, Mg I and Na D absorption lines of the galaxy spectrum. 03:48:14.346 -21:47:31.89 SN Ia-91T-like 0.147
