Abstract:
We report the DESIRT discovery of the transient T202105181428159m015855 (AT2021mtq) in galaxy CGCG 019-037 at z = 0.05466.

Here we report the DESIRT discovery of the transient T202105181428159m015855 (AT2021mtq) in galaxy CGCG 019-037 at z = 0.05466. The transient was discovered on MJD 59352.14 (UT 2021-05-18.14) at g = 20.52+-0.02 mag, r = 20.43+-0.02 mag, and z = 20.57+-0.04 mag. It was not detected on MJD 59349.27 (2021-05-15.27) down to magnitudes of 22.54 (g), 22.50 (r), and 21.71 (z). If this is a Type Ia supernova, it could rise to about g ~ 17.6 mag. Spectroscopic follow-ups are encouraged.
