Abstract:
We report Swift/XRT detection of X-ray emission in the tidal disruption event (TDE) AT2021ehb/ZTF21aanxhjv.

AT2021ehb was classified as a TDE in a galaxy at z=0.017 by the Zwicky Transient Facility (Gezari et al. 2021, AstroNote 2021-103). Four Swift observations from 2021 March 26 to April 2 showed no X-ray, with an average 3-sigma count rate upper limit of 0.0018 count/s. ZTF observations resumed during June  when the object came back into the night sky. The source has declined in optical flux. A 1.33ks swift observation on July 1 shows the detection of an X-ray source with 0.115 +/- 0.010 count/s. An absorbed blackbody (tbabs*zbbody) model fit to the XRT spectrum suggests a blackbody temperature of 167 +/- 23 eV, and a 0.3--3 keV flux of 1.6e-12 erg/cm^2/s, corresponding to a luminosity of 1.0e+42 erg/s.

We plan to continue Swift monitoring and spectroscopic follow-up observations. Further follow-up observations are encouraged.
