Data from the 0.6,m wide-field telescope MeerLICHT, located at SAAO Sutherland, South Africa, on AT2022kms (ATLAS2022olj, Tonry et al., 2022TNSTR1404....1T; Smith et al. 2022TNSAN.115....1S ) show a first detection of the object on 2021-11-24, at q=20.01 +/- 0.17. The MeerLICHT q-band covers 440-720nm. Since, it has been detected 15 time more, in the q-band only, with a Sun-constrained gap between 2022-01-20 and 2022-05-24. The light curve shows a slow rise to q=18.91+/-0.12 in the most recent detection on 2022-05-25 04:29:22.097.
No detection is found in another band, due to a shallower detection limit for transients.
MeerLICHT is built and run by a consortium consisting of Radboud University, University of Cape Town, the South African Astronomical Observatory, the University of Oxford, the University of Manchester and the University of Amsterdam.
