Abstract:
We report an early detection of the fast-rising optical transient AT2022tsd recovered in GOTO data on 2022-09-06 05:25 (MJD=59828.2257).

The Gravitational-wave Optical Transient Observer (GOTO) collaboration reports the recovery of an early detection of AT2022tsd.

The observation was taken on 2022-09-06 05:25 (MJD=59828.2257) in L-band (~400-700nm) and the source was detected with magnitude m_L = 20.65+/-0.10 mag. This observation was taken approximately 30 hours before the first ZTF detection and 43 hours after the last reported non-detection (Astronote 2022-199).

We note this measurement will have some contribution due to the underlying host galaxy, since the detection image was itself the template observation of the field - future difference-image photometry will become available.
