Abstract:
We report the spectroscopic classification of SN 2022ssx as a Type IIn supernova at z=0.016.

We report the spectroscopic classification of the optical transient SN 2022ssx. The target was supplied by the Zwicky Transient Facility ZTF (Bellm et al. 2019, 2019PASP..131a8002B; Graham et al. 2019, 2019PASP..131g8001G) and the ATLAS survey (Tonry et al. 2018, 2018PASP..130f4505T; Smith et al. 2020, 2020arXiv200309052S). The target had been rising for 37 days at the time of classification. Observations were performed on UT 2022 October 7 with the 1.93m telescope at Observatoire de Haute-Provence, France using the MISTRAL spectrograph, covering a wavelength range from 4200-8200Å with a resolution of R~750. The classification was performed using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005 2005ApJ...634.1190H).
