Abstract:
We classify SN 2022zz (Gaia22agb) in WISEA J023831.57-081545.6 as a Type Ia supernova using the Robert Stobie Spectrograph (RSS) on the South African Large Telescope (SALT).

We classify nuclear transient SN 2022zz (Gaia22agb) in WISEA J023831.57-081545.6 as a Type Ia supernova.

Target was supplied by the ESA Gaia Photometric Science Alerts Team DPAC.

Observations were performed on the South African Large Telescope (SALT) on the night of 2022 January 24, using Robert Stobie Spectrograph (RSS) and Grism PG0300. Classifications were done using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007 2007ApJ...666.1024B).

The classification spectra and additional details can be obtained from the IAU Transient Name Server.

The classified object is listed in the Related Objects table below.
