We report the detection of two transient candidates in JWST NIRCam observations of Abell 2744 by DDT program 2756 (PI: Wenlei Chen) acquired on October 20, 2022 (UT): AT2022acfu and AT2022acfv. These candidates were discovered by subtracting the DDT imaging data from the NIRISS pre-imaging taken from JWST ERS program 1324 (PI: Tommaso Treu). We constructed difference images between the NIRISS and NIRCam images, for which we convolved the high-resolution NIRCam images with transition kernels to match the NIRISS’s point spread functions. This technique has been introduced in Chen et al. 2022. These events have significant detection in multiple NIRCam filters. The first transient (RA=0:14:22.7512, DEC=-30:23:50.380) was detected in a galaxy at redshift z=0.949. The second transient candidate (RA=0:14:19.6589, DEC=-30:23:51.077) is detected in a faint arc, which has a photometric redshift of 2.7 (Castellano et al. 2016). Neither of these two transients is evident in the NIRISS pre-imaging taken in June 2022.
