Classification of SN 2022baz as a normal Type Ic supernova.
Abstract:
We report the classification of SN 2022baz as a Type Ic supernova at a redshift z =0.03 using spectrum from the Nordic Optical Telescope.
Spectra was obtained with ALFOSC using grism 4 on the Nordic Optical Telescope on the night of UT 2022-02-14, corresponding to 15 days after the ATLAS first detection epoch.
Targets were supplied by the ATLAS survey (Smith et al. 2020, 2020arXiv200309052S)
Classification was performed using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007). The best-matched SNID templates are the Type Ic at a redshift z=0.037, spectroscopically similar to SN90aa around maximum brightness.
The classification spectra and additional details can be obtained from the IAU Transient Name Server.
The classified object is listed in the Related Object Table below.
