Abstract:
We report the Chandra X-ray detection of the luminous fast blue optical transient (LFBOT) AT2023fhn.

We observed the luminous fast blue optical transient (LFBOT) AT2023fhn (see Astronotes #2023-93, #2023-100 and #2023-101) on 25 Apr 2023, 15 days post optical discovery, with Chandra (ACIS-S, faint mode, obsid=26624).

In our 30ks exposure we detect a source coincident with the transient with flux 2.6 (-1.1,+2.4) x 10^-15 erg/cm2/s (0.5-7.0 keV). At the redshift of the adjacent galaxy (z=0.24) this corresponds to a luminosity of 4.6 x 10^41 erg/s.

Further X-ray monitoring is planned.
