Abstract:
We report an SMA non-detection of SN 2023ixf at 230 GHz on 2023 May 21.17 UT, as part of the new large program POETS (Pursuit of Extragalactic Transients with the SMA).

Starting on 2023 May 21.17 we observed the location of SN 2023ixf with the SMA at 230 GHz for a duration of about 4 hours.  We do not detect any significant emission at the location of the SN, with an rms noise level of about 0.5 mJy. This observation is part of POETS (Pursuit of Extragalactic Transients with the SMA) - a new large program with the SMA.  Additional observations are being carried out.
