Abstract:
We report the classification of two optical transients (two type Ia SNe).

We report the classification of two optical transients observed on 2023 October 25. Observations were performed on the Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT) at El Roque de Los Muchachos (Spain) using the ALFOSC instrument as part of the 2023 NOT observing school at the University of Turku.

Classifications were done using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007 2007ApJ...666.1024B).

TNS 2023vtp [ZTF23abjxqwr] 05:03:39.763 -16:32:38.93 SN Ia-91T-like 0.042 Redshift based on a narrow H-alpha line from the host galaxy, and consistent with SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007) fits. The best SNID fit is to a 91T-type SN Ia close to peak. 05:03:39.750 -16:32:38.87 SN Ia-91T-like 0.042
