Abstract:
We report a redshift z=0.0747+/-0.0006 for the host galaxy of AT2023vth, from Gemini GMOS-N spectroscopy.

We report a redshift for the host galaxy of AT2023vth (a candidate FBOT, astronote 2023-297), from Gemini GMOS-N spectroscopy obtained on 12-Nov. The R400 grating, 1" slit, 500s exposures and central wavelength of 675nm were used. The challenging observability close to sunset limited useful observations to those of the host galaxy.

From Halpha, NII and SII emission lines, we determine a redshift z=0.0747+/-0.0006. At this redshift, the peak absolute g-band magnitude of AT2023vth is approx -20.

We thank the Gemini staff for their help in obtaining these observations.
