Abstract:
We announce the next experimental survey with the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF), set to occur over three consecutive nights starting on 2024-06-04 at 04:00 UT (18 degree twilight). This experiment will involve high-cadence (5-15min) observations across one of the ULTRASAT northern high-cadence fields. Transient alerts, images, and catalogs will be made available to the public.

The Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) collaboration is currently in an extended phase of operation aligned with the fourth gravitational-wave observing run of LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (ZTF-O4). During this phase, the ZTF collaboration will conduct a three-night public experiment each month with various scientific focuses and survey designs (see Ahumada et al., 2023-349).

The next ZTF extragalactic experiment is scheduled to start on 2024-06-04 at 04:00 UT and end on 2024-06-07 at 10:15 UT. During the three nights, ZTF will obtain high-cadence observations covering one of the northern ULTRASAT high-cadence fields. The ULTRASAT field center is 254, 64 (RA, Dec in decimal degrees) and the corresponding ZTF field IDs are 825, 824, 847, 848, 846. The centroids of these fields are (246.66667, 62.15), (260.0, 62.15), (231.42857, 69.35), (248.57143, 69.35), (265.71429, 69.35) with RA, Dec in decimal degrees.

ZTF observations will take place in g-band with the following exposure times per field:

Night 1: 60s Night 2: 120s Night 3: 180s

All five ZTF fields will be observed before cycling back to the start of the sequence.

As a public experiment, transient alerts will be released in real-time through the public alert stream. Images and catalogs will also be included in the ZTF public data release.

ZTF is supported by the National Science Foundation under Grants No. AST-1440341 and AST-2034437 and a collaboration including current partners Caltech, IPAC, the Oskar Klein Center at Stockholm University, the University of Maryland, University of California, Berkeley, the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, University of Warwick, Ruhr University, Cornell University, Northwestern University and Drexel University.
