Abstract:
We reclassified AT2024lby as an (extragalactic) SN II, rather than a galactic transient as reported in AstroNote 2024-157. The misclassification was caused by a reduction artifact, and reanalysis of the spectrum (as reported in AstroNote 2024-157) shows that AT 2024lby is a young SN II associated with the host galaxy at the redshift of 0.02.
