Abstract:
We report the classification of three optical transients (type Ia SNe).

We report the classification of three optical transients observed on 2024 October 21. Observations were performed on the Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT) at El Roque de Los Muchachos (La Palma, Spain) using the ALFOSC instrument as part of the 2024 NOT observing school at the University of Turku.

Classifications were done using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007 2007ApJ...666.1024B).

The redshifts of AT 2024xyu and AT 2024ynm are based on the SNID fits, which show a good match to a SN Ia a few days before peak brightness. The spectrum of AT 2024ynm includes a possible narrow P-Cygni feature of H-alpha at z=0.054 (SNID redshift 0.051). The redshift of AT 2024ymw (z=0.063), which also matches a young SN Ia, is based on a narrow H-alpha line associated with the host galaxy. The SNID fit gives a redshift comparable to this value at z=0.058.
