Spectroscopic classification of transients
Abstract:
This report includes the classification of 2 transients.
As part of the 2024 NEON observing school, students used the robotic Liverpool Telescope on La Palma to obtain spectroscopic observations of two transients. Here, we report the classifications obtained through spectral matching using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2011). The observations were taken with the SPRAT instrument using the red grating. The targets reported here were obtained from the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF, Bellm et al. 2019).
Below, we list the classified objects. All the spectra can be accessed through the Transient Name Server.
