GOTO-FAST spectroscopic classifications of optical transients
Source Group: GOTO
Abstract:
This report includes classifications of 2 Type Ia's and 2 Type IIs including the nearby flash ionised SN 2024cld (see https://www.wis-tns.org/astronotes/astronote/2024-48).
GOTO-FAST (astronote-2023-224) reports the classifications of the following optical transients. The observations were obtained on the Isaac Newton Telescope (INT) on the night of 2024 Feb 12 using the IDS spectrograph with R150V grating (3950-7900 Å, R ~600). The transients were classified using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007).
Targets were supplied by the Gravitational-wave Optical Transient Observer GOTO (Steeghs et al. 2022), the Zwicky Transient Facility ZTF (Bellm et al. 2019) - data stream processed through the Lasair broker (Smith, Williams, Young et al. 2019) and by the ALeRCE broker (Forster et al. 2020)
The classified objects are listed below in the Related Objects Table.
