Abstract:
This report includes classifications of 2 Type Ia SN (one pre-maximum 91T/99aa-like and one normal SN Ia around maximum at z=0.13), 1 young Type II SN, 1 old Type Ib/IIb SN, and an updated classification of SN2023acft, whose spectrum on UT 2024 Jan 16 initially displayed a blue featureless continuum. This new spectrum now displays features consistent with a SLSN-II at a redshift z=0.101. Follow-up observations are encouraged.

ePESSTO+, the advanced Public ESO Spectroscopic Survey for Transient Objects (Smartt et al. 2015 2015A&A...579A..40S), reports the following supernova classifications.

Targets were supplied by the ATLAS survey (Smith et al. 2020 2020PASP..132h5002S).

Observations were performed on the ESO New Technology Telescope (NTT) at La Silla on the night of 2024 March 11, using EFOSC2 and Grisms 13 (3985-9315A, 18A resolution) and 11 (3380-7520, 13.8A resolution). Classifications were done using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007 2007ApJ...666.1024B) and GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008 2008A&A...488..383H).

The classification spectra and additional details can be obtained from http://www.pessto.org (via WISeREP) and the IAU Transient Name Server.

The classified objects are listed in the Related Objects table below.

TNS 2024dtv [ATLAS24der] 06:11:03.320 -31:51:43.42 SN Ia-91T-like 0.04 ATLAS -7 to -4 young 91T-like SN Ia. Both SNID and GELATO find good matches to 91T/99aa-like templates around one week before maximum light at z=0.04. No known host redshift. 06:11:03.330 -31:51:43.02 SN Ia-91T-like 0.04
TNS 2024dym [ATLAS24dgp] 10:14:38.650 -27:24:39.86 SN II 0.014 ESO 500-17 0.014 ATLAS at max young Type II SN. Both SNID and GELATO find good matches to SN IIP templates around maximum light (1-2 weeks post explosion) at z=0.01. Narrow Halpha and [NII] give a redshift z=0.014, consistent with the redshift reported in NED for the host galaxy. 10:14:38.650 -27:24:39.42 SN II 0.014
TNS 2024dyv [ATLAS24dgy] 13:45:57.323 +18:57:15.32 SN Ib 0.027 SDSS J134557.51+185712.7 0.027 ATLAS > +20 old Type Ib/IIb. Both SNID and GELATO find good matches to SN Ib/IIb templates 1-2 months post explosion at z=0.03, consistent with the host-galaxy redshift z=0.027 derived from narrow emission lines in the spectrum. 13:45:57.323 +18:57:15.32 SN Ib 0.027
TNS 2024ecf [ATLAS24dli] 13:47:56.775 -25:38:37.97 SN Ia 0.13 ATLAS at max SN Ia around maximum light. SNID provides a best-match to the normal Type Ia SN 2002er at -4 days from maximum light at z=0.127+/-0.004. This is inconsistent with the redshift of the suggested host-galaxy (HIDEEP J1347-2539, z=0.004 from NED). 13:47:56.783 -25:38:38.55 SN Ia 0.13
TNS 2023acft [ATLAS23ybi] 05:15:05.170 -34:24:04.00 SLSN-II 0.101 0.101 ATLAS > +20 initial spectrum from UT 2024 Jan 16 showed a blue featureless continuum. Spectrum now displays features consistent with a SLSN-II at z=0.101 (host-galaxy redshift derived from narrow emission lines in the spectrum). GELATO provides a good match to the peculiar Type IIL SN 2008es at ~100 days post explosion. 05:15:05.170 -34:24:04.00 SLSN-II 0.101
