Abstract:
We report the discovery of AT2024qc in WISEA J103650.74-260918.8 at 55 Mpc, detected at q_AB = 17.5 with the BlackGEM-4 ("Emerald") telescope.

The BlackGEM-4 ("Emerald") telescope detected AT2024qc on Jan 4, 2024 at q_AB = 17.47. Follow-up on Jan 07, 2024 with the same telescope detects the object in all six BlackGEM filter bands (u,g,q,r,i,z) at a flat apparent magnitude of m_AB=17.45 +/- 0.1 across all bands. The source is located on the galaxy WISEA J103650.74-260918.8 which has NED-reported redshift of 0.012295 (55 Mpc assuming H_0 = 67 km/s/Mpc). 

Follow-up observations and a spectroscopic identification is encouraged.
