WFST0617iqnc (AT 2025mba) was discovered by the 2.5-m Wide Field Survey Telescope (WFST; Wang, T., et al., 2023, SCPMA, 6609512) deep high-cadence ugr-bands survey ("DHugr," Jiang, J.-a., et al. in prep) on May 26, 2025 (MJD: 60821.67) with g ~ 20.02 ± 0.02 mag and g-r ~ -0.2 mag . The transient is offset by 7.5" from a galaxy (redshift z = 0.036 from DESI; DESI Collaboration, 2025, arXiv:2503.14745). WFST did not find the object on May 24, 2025 (MJD: 60819.7) with a 5-sigma limiting mag of 23 mag in g band. The brightness of WFST0617iqnc was declined by 1.54 mag in g band since the discovery (~0.385 mag/day).
Given the fast decline of the transient, prompt follow-up observations are encouraged.
This report is based on observations obtained with the 2.5-m Wide Field Survey Telescope (WFST) at Mt. Saishiteng, Lenghu, China. The WFST science products have been made possible through the contributions of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO).
