The BHTOM.space network coordinated an extensive campaign to monitor SN2024gy, Type Ia nearby supernova in NGC4216, discovered by K. Itagaki on 2024-01-04 and reported later with ASAS-SN as ASASSN-24ac. Follow-up observations commenced on Jan 12th, 2024, and continued until December 19th, 2024, when the target was still detected at V=19.6+-0.1 mag. During this period, 1447 measurements were obtained using multiple telescopes. Photometric data were taken in various filters, processed within BHTOM and subsequently transformed into Gaia Synthetic Photometry (GaiaSP) for consistency.
Our data show that SN2024gy reached its peak brightness in I-band around Jan 21st, 2024. Since then, the light curves indicate a consistent decline in brightness across all observed bands, except I-band, which showed a secondary peak around Feb 16th, 2024.
Detailed light curves and associated statistics are presented on the webpage: https://www.astrouw.edu.pl/~wyrzykow/BHTOM/SN2024gy. Further details and the full photometric dataset are available for download by registered users of the BHTOM.space platform.
