Abstract:
We report the SOAR classification of 2025cfc as a Type II SN at redshift z=0.0098 with flash features.

We observed the young supernova candidate AT2025cfc, found by GOTO and ATLAS, using the Goodman High Throughput Spectrograph on the 4m SOAR telescope on 2025-02-22 at 03:15 UT.

The spectrum shows flash features. We identify H-alpha at z=0.0098 and broad, blueshifted (“ledge feature”) He II 4686 with possible He II + N III emission lines.
