Abstract:
This report classifications of AT 2019lwu as a TDE at a redshift 0.117.

ePESSTO+, the advanced Public ESO Spectroscopic Survey for Transient Objects (Smartt et al. 2015 2015A&A...579A..40S), reports the classification of AT 2019lwu as a TDE.

Observations were performed on the ESO New Technology Telescope (NTT) at La Silla on the night of 2019 August 27, using EFOSC2 and Grism 13 (3985-9315A, 18A resolution).

The spectrum obtained shows a blue continuum with superimposed broad Ha, Hb and HeII+NIII emission lines and Ca II H&K absorption lines at a redshift 0.117. The discovery of transient was reported by ZTF (Fremling, 2019TNSTR1352....1F), previous classifcations are inconlusive and report a blue continuum and featureless spectrum ( Frohmaier et al, AstroNote #2019-58; Nicholl et al., AstroNote #2019-59).

The classification spectrum and additional details can be obtained from http://www.pessto.org (via WISeREP) and the IAU Transient Name Server.

The classified object is listed in the Related Objects table below.
