Abstract:
We report the detection by BlackGEM of the young SN candidate AT 2025aaa / BGEM J091754.07-222055.8 in NGC 2835 (10 Mpc)

Groot et al. (TNS Astronomical Transient Report No. 242114) have reported  the transient AT 2025aaa / BGEM J091754.07-222055.8, discovered by BlackGEMon 2025-01-23 08:15:11 UT at  a magnitude of BG-q = 18.41 +/- 0.04 and with a last non detection by BlackGEM on 2025-01-22 06:50:23 UT with a limiting magnitude of BG-q = 20.98. The fast rise time suggests a young SN. The transient is located in the galaxy NGC 2835(at a metric distance of 10 Mpc, from NED).

A finding chart has been reported to TNS by the BlackGEMteam.

This object was reported by mistake.
The object was not detected in the second BlackGEM observation, at 5:05AM the same night, with limiting magnitude 20.2. It was probably a cosmic ray. Apologies for reporting it.
