The participants of the ESO Summer Research School report the following supernova classifications. The reductions were performed using the PESSTO pipeline (Public ESO Spectroscopic Survey for Transient Objects,Smartt et al. 2015 2015A&A...579A..40S).
Targets were supplied by the ATLAS survey (Smith et al. 2020, 2020PASP..132h5002S), the Zwicky Transient Facility ZTF (Bellm et al. 2019 2019PASP..131a8002B) - data stream processed by the ALeRCE broker (Forster et al. 2020, 2021AJ....161..242F), the Gravitational-wave Optical Transient Observer GOTO (see Dyer et al. 2020, SPIE, 11445 2020SPIE11445E..7GD).
Observations were performed on the ESO New Technology Telescope (NTT) at La Silla on the night of 2025 July 16, using EFOSC2 and Grism 13 (3985-9315A, 18A resolution).
This work is based on observations collected during the ESO Summer Research Programme 2025, conducted under Director's Discretionary Time, under Programme 115.29FM.001. The raw data is openly available in the ESO archive.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TNS | 2025pld [ATLAS25gqz] | 22:09:55.635 | -34:57:42.10 | SN II | 0.03 | ATLAS | 15 - 18 d | The spectrum displays broad P Cygni profiles of hydrogen, along with normal metal-line blanketing at bluer wavelengths, indicating this is a Type II supernova a few weeks after explosion. GELATO finds a good match with the spectrum 1995ad at a phase of 12 days post explosion -- which phase is a week younger than what is suggested by the ATLAS light curve. The redshift is estimated to be z = 0.03 based on the template matching. | 22:09:55.635 | -34:57:42.10 | SN II | 0.03 | ||
| TNS | 2025qpa [GOTO25eqg] | 15:59:37.630 | +15:18:37.11 | SN II | 0.038 | SDSS J155937.6+151841.2 | 0.038 | ATLAS | 9 - 12 d | Strong host galaxy contamination. The spectrum shows a broad H alpha profile, indicating it to be Type II supernova, about 10 days after explosion. The redshift was taken from SDSS, and was verified by the host galaxy narrow emission lines seen in the spectrum. | 15:59:37.633 | +15:18:37.35 | SN II | 0.038 |
| TNS | 2025qzz [ATLAS25hod] | 00:41:57.078 | -47:54:40.14 | SN II | 0.04794 | ESO 194-G028 | 0.04794 | ATLAS | 7 - 10 d | The supernova shows broad signatures of H and He, indicating that it is a young Type II supernova. Redshift adopted from NED. | 00:41:57.078 | -47:54:40.14 | SN II | 0.04794 |
| TNS | 2025lzu [ATLAS25fob] | 21:39:55.024 | +06:00:12.08 | SN II | 0.063 | SDSS J213955.08+060013.0 | ATLAS | ~50 d | The spectrum shows a developed and broad P Cygni feature of hydrogen, indicating this is a Type II supernova. The previous spectrum of this object was featureless. The redshift is based on the narrow host galaxy H alpha line seen in the spectrum. | 21:39:55.024 | +06:00:12.08 | SN II | 0.063 |
