We report the spectroscopic follow-up of the young Type II SN2026cff in NGC 3660 (z = 0.0122). with NTT/EFOSC2, following the early classification with the same instrument (https://www.wis-tns.org/astronotes/astronote/2026-25).
The spectra still show blue, hot continua, although with a decrease in temperature, as fitted with blackbody models. We see an increase in the integrated spectral luminosity, following the light curve increase in brightness. Additionally, we see an increase in the Halpha luminosity.
Observations were performed on the ESO New Technology Telescope (NTT) at La Silla at UT 2026-02-08T07:19:35.00, UT 2026-02-09T07:02:34.00, and UT 2026-02-10T05:09:07.00, using EFOSC2 with Grism 11 (3380-7520A, 16A resolution). The spectra were taken a few days after ZTF discovery (06 Feb 2026 08:05:04 UTC).
Observations were conducted in the context of the ESO La Silla Observing School 2026. Follow-up observations in both optical and IR wavelengths are highly encouraged.
