E. Falco, J. L. Prieto report/s a classification of object: SN 2017ah
Type: SN Ia
Remarks: We obtained a spectrum of ASASSN-17ad/AT2017ah on UT 2017 Jan 5.5 with FAST mounted on the FLWO 1.5m telescope. The spectrum of ASASSN-17ad is that of a Type Ia caught on the rise. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the SNID and GELATO give best matches with normal Type Ia at 8-10 days before maximum light. After correcting for the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.032863), we measure a Si II 635.5 nm expansion velocity from the P-Cygni absorption trough of 15600 km/s.
