Date Received (UTC): 2020-07-30 07:08:55 Sender: Simon Prentice
Group: TCD
Simon Prentice, Kate Maguire, Mark Magee, Maxime Deckers (TCD) report/s a classification of object: SN 2020qln
Type: SN IRedshift: 0.016
Remarks: We find matches to Type Ia SNe about a week before maximum light using our Python based classification software and SNID (Blondin, S. & Tonry, J. L. 2007. ApJ, 666, 1024), but this is inconsistent with the absolute ATLAS-o magnitude of -16 mag. There does not appear to be significant reddening towards the source. Follow-up classification is encouraged.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2020-07-30 03:15:16
Instrument: SPRAT
Telescope: Liverpool Telescope
