TNS Classification Report No. 12002 [ 2022TNSCR.567....1B ]
Date Received (UTC): 2022-03-01 21:24:41 Sender: Jamison Burke
Group: Global SN Project
Jamison Burke (LCO/UCSB), Wenxiong Li (TAU), D. Andrew Howell (LCO/UCSB), Curtis McCully, Megan Newsome, Giacomo Terreran, Estefania Padilla Gonzalez, Craig Pellegrino report/s a classification of object: SN 2022dml
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.03
Remarks: Due to the strong blue continuum and the presence of flash features, we classify this object as a young SN II. We measure the redshift from the flash features, using H, He II, and C II to measure z=0.030. Photometry from ZTF shows that the object is rapidly increasing in brightness (0.49 mag/day), with the most recent epoch at m_r = 17.57 (M=-18.0, using the distance modulus computed from the redshift). Further followup is encouraged.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2022-03-01 13:48:54
