Lemon (Lausanne) adH0cc SN II 0.042 1 adH0cc A classification spectrum of SN 2023zps, obtained on the night of 2023-12-12 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1, equipped with the FORS2 spectrograph and grism 300V, shows broad P Cygni features of hydrogen, indicating that SN 2023zps is a Type II supernova. The presence of a weak calcium triplet at 8300 Å suggests the supernova to be two to three weeks old, which is further supported by comparisons made with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, 2008A&A...488..383H) and by the ATLAS forced photometry light curve. We have adopted the redshift of the host for the SN redshift. 2023TNSCR3231....1C
