Date Received (UTC): 2025-01-08 13:52:34 Sender: Jacob Wise
Group: ZTF
Jacob Wise (LJMU), K-Ryan Hinds (LJMU), Daniel Perley (LJMU), R. Michael Rich (UCLA) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024aays
Type: SN IIbRedshift: 0.0329
Remarks: Spectrum is well-fit by SN Ib and SN IIb template spectra from previously classified events at a redshift of z = 0.0329, which was obtained using host galaxy emission features. The early ZTF lightcurve displayed a shock cooling peak before rising to the main peak, characteristic of a SN IIb. Classification performed using Next Generation Superfit (NGSF, Goldwasser et al. 2022).
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2025-01-05 10:32:30
Instrument: KAST
Telescope: 3m Lick Shane Reflector
