Saurabh W. Jha (Rutgers), Sai H. Vejjupalle (Rutgers), Laura Molina (Rutgers), Paras Mundravale (Rutgers) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024aboc
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.0246
Remarks: Spectrum shows a mostly featureless, blue continuum with a hint of a "ledge" feature near 460 nm (see. e.g., Shrestha et al. 2024, ApJ, 961, 247) suggesting this is a young type-II supernova. The redshift measured from host galaxy emission lines is z = 0.0246.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2024-11-21 20:08:37
Instrument: RSS
Telescope: Southern African Large Telescope
