TNS Classification Report No. 20241 [ 2025TNSCR.362....1W ]
Date Received (UTC): 2025-01-26 19:44:12 Sender: Jacob Wise
Group: ZTF
Jacob Wise (LJMU), K-Ryan Hinds (LJMU), Daniel Perley (LJMU), R. Michael Rich (UCLA) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024aezo
Type: SLSN-IRedshift: 0.4227
Remarks: Spectrum is well-fit by template spectra from previously classified SLSN-I at a redshift of z = 0.4227. The transient has a current ZTF g-band magnitude of ~19.1. When applying a 2.5log10(1+z) K-correction, this corresponds to a rest-frame absolute magnitude of M_u ~ -22.4. Host spectroscopic redshift from Chun Ly et al. 2016's observations of galaxies in the Subaru Deep Field. Classification performed using Next Generation Superfit (NGSF, Goldwasser et al. 2022).
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2025-01-25 10:51:25
Instrument: KAST
Telescope: 3m Lick Shane Reflector
