Beth Garton (LJMU), Jacob Wise (LJMU), Nabeel Rehemtulla (Northwestern), Steve Schulze (Northwestern), Adam Miller (Northwestern), Iain Steele (LJMU), Helen Jermak (LJMU) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024agkj

Type: SLSN-I
Redshift: 0.1934

Remarks: LT SPRAT spectrum is fit by template spectra from previously classified SLSN-I and SN Ic-BL events. A previous mostly blue and featureless spectrum taken by Binospec on MJD 60703.381 displayed host emission features at a redshift of z = 0.1934. This corresponds to a transient magnitude of M < -21, supporting the classification of the event as an SLSN-I. Classification performed using Next Generation Superfit (NGSF, Goldwasser et al. 2022).

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2025-02-14 03:13:58
