Kenta Taguchi (Kyoto University) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024chx

Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.012602

Remarks: The spectrum is dominated by a blue continuum, with N III 4640 and He II 4686 seen in emission lines. According to GELATO, the probability of this object being an SN II is 91%. The redshift is from NED.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2024-02-12 14:42:13
Instrument: Other
Telescope: Other

Remarks: A spectroscopic follow-up observation with KOOLS-IFU mounted on the 3.8-m Seimei telescope at Okayama Observatory of Kyoto University. The spectral resolution is ~ 500, and the wavelength coverage is 4100-8500 A. I took the median of three count spectra produced for each exposure of the SN by the KOOLS-IFU quick look system and that of four of the standard star HR4468 to perform flux calibration.
