TNS Classification Report No. 17531 [ 2024TNSCR2605....1G ]
Date Received (UTC): 2024-07-26 15:24:02 Sender: Sebastian Gomez
Group: FLEET
Sebastian Gomez (STScI), Daichi Hiramatsu (Harvard CfA), Edo Berger (Harvard CfA), Harsh Kumar (Harvard CfA), Peter Blanchard (Northwestern), Suvi Gezari (STScI) report/s a classification of object: AT 2024hxu
Type: AGNRedshift: 0.225
Remarks: 2023xhq was selected as a possible TDE by our FLEET program with a P(TDE) = 0.58 (Gomez et al., 2023, ApJ, 949, 113). The redshift of z = 0.225 was determined host emission lines. We find the strength of oxygen lines from the host and moderate width of Balmer emission lines to be most consistent with an AGN.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2024-05-31 00:00:00
Instrument: IMACS
Telescope: Walter Baade Magellan 6.5-m telescope (LCO)
