Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.009

Remarks: Using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) we find best fits to SNe Ia prior to maximum light, including SN 2007au 6 days before peak. Our fits find z=0.009, and at this redshift we measure a Si II 6355 velocity of approximately 12,000 km/s. Adopting the distance modulus computed from this redshift (32.7), the r-band absolute magnitude of the object roughly coeval with the spectrum is -18.07 (apparent magnitude 14.64, from Las Cumbres Observatory).
