S. Taubenberger, C. Vogl, S. H. Suyu, R. Cañameras, A. Melo, S. Huber (MPA/TUM Garching), S. Dhawan (KICC Cambridge), A. Goobar, J. Johansson, N. Arendse, A. Sagues Carracedo, S. Schulze (OKC Stockholm), J. Nordin, A. Townsend (HU Berlin), T.-W. Chen (NCU Taiwan), S. Schuldt (UNIMI Milano), Y. Shu (PMO Nanjing) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024lnq
Type: SNRedshift: 0.48
Remarks: The spectrum of SN 2024lnq shows a blue continuum with broad undulations. Spectral cross-matching with GELATO, SNID, and NGSF yields reasonable matches with various SLSNe (e.g., SN 2008es, SN 2015bn, CSS121015). The redshift is somewhat uncertain, but z=0.48 allows the identification of a faint emission feature with H-beta and is at the same time consistent with the photo-z estimate of the host galaxy from the Legacy Survey. At that redshift, the absolute magnitude of SN 2024lnq is around -23.
