Panos Charalampopoulos report/s a classification of object: SN 2024nek
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.1
Remarks: We report the classification of AT2024nek as a Ia supernova based on an optical spectrum obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2024-07-08 (i.e., MJD 60500.04). The transient is coincident with the nucleus of the host galaxy. Comparison with a library of supernovae spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), suggests AT2024nek is an around peak SN Ia at a redshift of z~0.099.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2024-07-09 00:57:48
Instrument: ALFOSC
Telescope: Nordic Optical Telescope
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2024nek
