Jacob Wise (LJMU), K-Ryan Hinds (LJMU), Daniel Perley (LJMU), R. Michael Rich (UCLA), Osmin Caceres (UCLA), Adam Miller (NU) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024ox
Type: SN Iax[02cx-like]Redshift: 0.0299
Remarks: Spectrum is well fit to template spectra from the previously observed SN Ia 02cx-like events SN2002cx and SN2005hk. The SN is also underluminous for a SN Ia with its lightcurve peaking at an absolute magnitude of ~-18 in SDSS r and i bands, consistent with the Ia 02cx-like subclass. Classification performed using Next Generation SuperFit (NGSF, Goldwasser et al. 2022). A redshift of z=0.0299±0.0001 was determined using host emission lines.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2024-04-03 11:40:37
Instrument: KAST
Telescope: 3m Lick Shane Reflector
