Remarks: The DLT40 team obtained a spectrum of SN 2024phv with GMOS on Gemini-S on 2024-07-12 00:45:47.4. We use this spectrum to classify SN 2024phv as a young Type II supernova. The spectrum shows a series of narrow H, He, C emission lines with broad wings consistent with CSM interaction on top of a blue continuum. We report the redshift for the host galaxy NGC3936 from NED, which is consistent with the narrow features in the spectrum.
