TNS Classification Report No. 17506 [ 2024TNSCR2536....1P ]
Date Received (UTC): 2024-07-22 10:07:50 Sender: Andrea Pastorello
Group: NUTS2
A. Pastorello (INAF-OAPd), T. Nagao (University of Turku), G. Valerin (INAF-OAPd), L. Tomasella (INAF-OAPd), A. Reguitti (INAF-OAB), I. Salmaso (INAF-OAPd), F. Guidolin (University of Padova), E. Kankare (University of Turku), M. D. Stritzinger (University of Aarhus), T. Reynolds (DAWN, NBI, UTU) report/s a classification of object: AT 2024psn
Type: NovaRedshift: 0.001027
Remarks: The spectrum shows a blue continuum superposed by weak and narrow P Cygni lines, at a redshift consistent with that of Messier 094. From the minimum of the absorption profile of the Balmer lines, we infer an expansion velocity of about 1100 km/s for the ejected material. Other absorption features identified in the spectrum are Fe II and O I 7774 A. The spectrum is consistent with that of a very young Fe nova in Messier 094.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
