TNS Classification Report No. 17525 [ 2024TNSCR2588....1S ]
Date Received (UTC): 2024-07-25 20:10:13 Sender: Stephen Smartt
Group: ATLAS
Stephen Smartt (Oxford), B. P. Schmidt (ANU),K. Auchettl (University of Melbourne/UCSC), C. Lidman , K. Dove, B. E. Tucker (ANU), T. Moore, M. Fulton, (QUB), S. Srivastav (Oxford) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024pxl
Type: SN Iax[02cx-like]Redshift: 0.006
Remarks: Fast rising supernova selected for spectroscopic classification in the ZTF stream by the Fastfinder annotator on Lasair. Type I supernova spectrum with narrow lines, good match to SN2005hk around a week before peak. ATLAS and ZTF lightcurves imply it is still rising and pre-peak. SNID and Gelato provided the matches to SN2005hk.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2024-07-24 00:00:00
Instrument: WiFeS
Telescope: ANU 2.3m Advanced Technology Telescope
Remarks: This is the WiFES spectrum binned to 5Angs per pixel
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2024pxl
