Robin Leadbeater, Emmanuel Soubrouillard report/s a classification of object: SN 2025aec
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.055
Remarks: SNID ( Blondin, S. & Tonry, J. L. 2007. ApJ, 666, 1024) gives credible matches to type 1a supernovae pre maximum at the redshift of the probable host. (Redshift from NED). Removing contamination from the host galaxy in the spectrum using the SDSS galaxy spectrum as a template improves the quality of the match. Example matches are attached.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2025-01-29 00:00:01
Instrument: Other
Telescope: Other
Remarks: Spectrum taken by Emmanuel Soubrouillard using an ALPY200 grism slit spectrograph (R~130) and a 0.3m aperture telescope
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2025aec
