G. Csoernyei, B. Leibundgut, J. Spyromilio, S. Blondin (ESO), S. Taubenberger (TUM / MPA), W. Hillebrandt (MPA) report/s a classification of object: SN 2025aedy
Type: SN IIbRedshift: 0.028
Remarks: The object shows prominent H and He lines, along with a strong metal-line blanketing in the bluer wavelengths and a well-developed Ca II triplet at an epoch of about two weeks, indicative of a Type IIb supernova. The object exploded in the same host galaxy as the Type Ia supernova SN 2017dfv. The redshift was adopted from NED.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2025-12-10 03:54:41
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1
Remarks: Quick-reduction spectrum
