Sender: Miguel Llamas Lanza
Reporting Group: Fink Discovery Data Source: Fink
Miguel Llamas Lanza (IRAP), Erwan Quintin (ESA), Etienne Russeil (Stockholm U), Sergey Karpov (FZU), Emille Ishida (LPC) report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.
IAU Designation: AT 2025afsj
Discoverer internal name: ZTF18aaxqitv
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 12:55:07.090 (193.779542) DEC = +34:08:46.70 (34.146306)
Discovery date: 2025-11-23 12:50:56.000 (JD=2461003.0353704)
Potential host galaxy: SDSS J125507.07+340846.6
Host redshift: 0.165
Remarks: Burst with an amplitude of ~0.75 mag, in clear excess of the previous AGN-like variability around 0.2mag. The peak absolute magnitude of the transient is -20.6 for now, still rising. The host is a Type 1, with a SDSS spectrum and a DESI spectrum
