TNS Classification Report No. 20573 [ 2025TNSCR.992....1H ]
Date Received (UTC): 2025-03-14 23:37:30 Sender: Erica Hammerstein
Group: ZTF
E. Hammerstein (UC Berkeley), R. Stein (JSI), R. Chornock (UC Berkeley), Y. Yao (UC Berkeley), I. Andreoni (UNC), J. Carney (UNC) on behalf of the ZTF AGN/TDE working group report/s a classification of object: TDE 2025cyh
Type: TDERedshift: 0.105
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2025-03-05 00:00:00
Instrument: LRIS
Telescope: Keck I 10m
Remarks: The source redshift was determined to be z=0.105. The classification of this source remains ambiguous given the narrow emission line features consistent with the AGN-like line ratios but lack of strong AGN-like WISE colors and variability. We present this source as a possible TDE candidate, but it may also belong to other classes of nuclear transients, including the Bowen Fluorescence Flares (BFFs) put forth by Trakhtenbrot et al. 2019.
