Remarks: We report the classification of the optical transient SN 2025mbz from spectroscopic observations with the Kast spectrograph on the Shane telescope. The target was supplied by GOTO. Observations were made on 2025 May 28 UT. Classification was performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). The redshift was determined using narrow emission lines from the host galaxy, including H I, [N II], [O III], [O II], [O I], and [S II]. For the supernova, we measure Si II 6355 and Ca II near-infrared triplet absorption velocities of -16,500 km/s and -28,000 km/s, respectively.
